Approval of My German Spouse Visa

When did you received a confirmation that my German Spouse Visa Application has been APPROVED?
For how many months did you wait before you get your German Spouse Visa Application APPROVED?
Is there a way to speed things up in processing your German Spouse Visa Application ?
What is a Date of arrival in Germany requirement?

I was very surprised and at the same time nervous when I received a letter from the German Embassy. I don't know if they still needed additional papers or something was wrong with my application. Fortunately, the letter states: "the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany is pleased to inform you that your application for a Visa has been approved."

In the letter also stated that I have to submit a VALID PASSPORT and the DATE OF ARRIVAL IN GERMANY.

What is a Date of arrival in Germany?
Literally it is the date of your arrival in Germany.
After receiving the approval letter from the embassy, I immediately told my German Spouse and my German Spouse immediately bought a ticket for me. So what I submitted was a Hard Copy of an electronic form of my plane ticket to Germany (I printed it).

Again, you can't just directly send your documents to the German Embassy. You have to call the call center of the German Embassy. The official COURIER of the German Embassy is Air21 and the fee cost 320 Pesos round trip. Roun trip means sending and then receiving back your documents. The fee is payable upon pick-up.

Please note that sending of the required documents through a non-accredited courier service of the Embassy can significantly delay the printing and releasing of your Visa.

After a week from sending my passport and date of arrival in Germany, I received my passport back with the German Visa.

At last, MY GERMAN SPOUSE VISA WAS APPROVED and my passport with the German Visa is already in my hands!

How long did it took? I went to the German Embassy in Manila at the End of February 2008. I received an Approval of my German Visa letter First Week of April 2008. I just waited for a month and my German Visa was approved. I honestly thought it would take 4 to 6 months or more as stated at there website.

How I did it? How did I make it quick? What specific measures did I go through to make it faster? Honestly, I don't know how to answer these questions. I just submitted all the necessary requirements and the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany approved my visa after a month.

I really feel sorry for those people I have encountered at the CFO Seminar or at the German Embassy who told me they have waited for 6 months, 8 months and more than a year but still there German Visa are not yet approved.

Is marrying your German Spouse in the Philippines and getting a German Spouse Visa faster than getting a German Fiance Visa?
Based on my experience, PROBABLY. In my opinion, the processing of a German Fiance Visa is a bit longer because you are not yet married to your German Spouse. The embassy have to do more investigation or background check on you.

Do you have a relative or connection or someone you know at the German Embassy that helped you processed your papers faster?
100% NO! I just follow their rules and guidelines, submit the papers they needed and read a lot info from their website.

I really don't have any idea on what is behind the Embassy's Visa processing. I don't have any idea why someone's Visa was approved faster than the other one. Maybe I was just lucky... that I only waited for a month... ^_^

@jenie - hi jen! its ok, im glad your ready for class na and also ok na rin rtc and other recquired docs mo :) yap thats right, when you go here in germany, you still need to continue further langguage, they call it migrationkurs.. what we learned in goethe is only basic(A1) and still need to be continued here.. you can also continue there while waiting for your papers to a2 but can also continue here, dito mostly per module ang schools, hndi kgya sa goethe na a1 a2 b1 etc.. here magtest ka then mlalaman nila what level ng knowledge mo then they'll put you into corresponding module.. at the moment i am still not settled for any langguage course here in Hamburg since by August baka malipat ng work si hubby ko sa münchen for 8 months so maybe i might start my further langguage there :) if you want to go study to university naman like learning a job of a lawyer or doctor you need to have a perfect german which i think until c2 but there are jobs here like hotel fachfrau, oder krankenschwester and so on, you can do with ausbildung (training yan no need to study ffor university) there are low kind of jobs also but still the fact remains you need to learn their langguage and speak and understand it fluently :) pra san nga pla ung german translator? hubby and i are ok, thanks ^^ take care and God bless ^^

Hi Jenie, this is Jann.

Re: requirements, all the same except the part where you write a statement that you are not married in Germany and the 2 pcs ID pictures. I just send out my docs yesterday via courier, should either reach my h2b this week end or early next week. Don't worry too much about the differences in requirements and I was told that every Standesamt have their own requirement. Basta yun sundin mo yun ano binigay ng Standesamt ng h2b mo. :)

Sayang and I will take up my German Class here in cebu. Our class begin this May 27 (haha, lapit na!) Good luck sa class mo and galingan mo! :)

As for certified translator ... I only know yun dito sa Cebu. So yeah, sorry and I am not much of help. >.<"

@anonymous: yun mga docs na pina translate ko ay yun for the "legal capacity to contract marriage" ... hinde pa yun mismong bachelor paper. very various yun prices depending on what kind of doc is it. do you want me to inquire for you?

Jann said...

Hi Jenie and this is Jann ulit,
I send mine via OCS (Overseas Courier Service). ETA nila is 3-4 days. Price range is less than 2k php.
I inquired at Fedex and their range is 2.5k but reach there 1-2 days lang.
hope it helps!

@ Priceless ohnoes! by the time I get there baka wala na kayo sa HH. >.<" Either way, ingat kayo ni hubby.

depends on your situation and your fiances situation. it is a case to case basis, meron iba asawa na sila pero months pa hinintay bago nakuha ang visa, meron din mga fiance, ung friend ko wala pang 1month dmting na fiance visa nya, so depende lang tlga yan sa civil reg ng partner mo and sa pareready and prepare nyo ng papers.

Anonymous June 6, 2011

i think you need to apply for visa of your son too, how old is your son? better call the german embassy for your case pra mas malinaw and alam mo kagad ang gagawin mo. bka dmting visa mo eh hindi mo maisama anak mo.

my son is 5 yrs. old.. ok thanks i just ask or email to the embassy... more power to this blog.. it help a lot to me...

Hello po ! I really like this blog po talaga.

Hope to read your reply as soon as possible.
Thank you po sa lahat ! :)

Hallo Thania,
bitte schoen..ano yung mahal ang german language?pero kung marami ka ng alam sa kanilang language, mga basic pwd ka nman mgtake ng exam..you can read this don sa site nila;

Do I have to take a German course at Goethe-Institut, in order to take the exam?

No. Where and how you learn your German is completely up to you.
You can register for the Goethe-Zertifikat A1: Start Deutsch 1 without having attended a Goethe-Institut course. It makes no difference if you took another language school course, private lessons, or learned through self-study.

The Goethe-Institut courses are designed to teach the language skills important for the exam. It is our goal to make taking an exam as easy as possible for you.

first of all if its regards sa financial matter, mas maganda po tlga na jan na lang kayo sa cagayan pupunta BUT there are some insurance company that are covering specific kind of insurance and for what country's so i think it is better that you just rely to the german embassy's suggested insurance company.. in my case before, i asked them for list of iinsurance company that is credited by their office and then i looked for the nearest branch in our town, luckily i was able to found 1 so we just went to the province branch and not in manila anymore. i was trying to find the mail from the german embassy for the list of insurance company but sadly i dont have it anymore.. hope this helps :)

Hello! I am Cherrel... me and my fiance are planning to get married here in the Philippines on the 2nd week of february.. his whole family is coming... but, we have this dilemma... in his place, before he can get his certificate of legal capacity to marry, i should submit all the required documents (original and translated into German).. i sent all the required documents in Germany last Sept. 9, 2011.. the officer there checked the papers and approved them.. then the officer said that the documents will be sent to the German Embassy here in Manila for verification...

But, yesterday (november 27) my fiance received an email from their local office that the embassy wanted me to submit additional documents of my addresses and sketch from 15 yrs old up to present and also 2 passport size pictures... they also send an authorization letter to authorize them to verify my documents...

Now, my fiance and I are worried if the Embassy in Manila would be able to give him his certificate of legal capacity to marry... or if they can still give it to him before January 28, 2012 which is their arrival here in the Philippines...

Is there anyone here who have the same experience?

Thanks!

CHERREL

Hallo
can anyone please help, i had applied for a fiance visa for germany coz my fiance is a german and we had plans to get married in germany this spring/summer but the visa was denied and we don't know how to go about it or what next.

the letter we received was written this: Die Botschaft bedauert.

We can prove that the documents are all legal from both sides because i got them from the goverments offices and all my records are in the goverment i.e immigration office where i got my passport, registry office where i got the letter of no impendiment to marriage and at the ministry of foreign affairs where it was later legalised, the birthcertificate i have it since i was a kid and if it was not legal i would not get a passport with the birthcertificate. so we are clueless how to go about it from there, besides the embassy did not specify exactly which documents is verfalschte and they just told us that we can sue the Embassy. was anyone in the same situation before? could you please advice..should we sue the Embassy? how long does the legal process take if we sue the Embassy and what is the outcome?

Hi all!

I'm gay and I have a German bf who wanted to marry me in Germany.

We are considering that I go to Germany with a tourist visa and then get married there. Is this possible?

And, I live in Iloilo City and we don't have a Goethe Institute here but we have a language center affiliated with Goethe Institut. So do I need to go to Manila just to study German? I have taught myself some German over the years so I know a few words and phrases and grammar. :-)

Thanks!
J

hi po mga sir/mam.. yung late registered ba need for document checking includes Marriage Certificate? Because I'm thinking that it is only for the Late Registered birth certificate.

Anonymous said...

hi sir/mam.. hindi ata napost yung message ko.. ask ko lang po sana na yun po bang document checking applies also for late registered Marriage Certificate? Because I believe it is only applicable in Late Registration of Birth Certificate. Thanks in advance to whoever response on my querry.

Hello,
Mag apply din ako ng spouse reunification visa to Germany. I am a bit confused on the documents. Thanks.

Hello guys!

I'm Grace from Iloilo, applying for Family Reunion Visa..gusto ko lang po sana ng advise or any idea about passport problems.

My question is twofold:

1) There are stain marks on my passport, visible on page 1 and at the back page. but the letters are still very legible. It's not badly damaged or anything, just that the stain are evident on the said pages.
The stain damage happened the last few months ago right after I've submitted my application and requirements which was last April 07,2014.

Now just done my checking documents and the status of my visa is now ongoing. I just visited DFA Iloilo last week and asked them for some advise and they they said that it considered damaged. I know it's hard to say anything now about my passport, but my question is, what constitutes a damaged passport (one that needs to be replaced) ?

2) If it comes to it, I am thinking of getting my passport will be renew as soon as possible here in iloilo before the result of my Visa process.

Now, do I have to get my new passport so that the German Consul will stamp my visa on it? Or should I pass this old one at visa section on the day if na approved na visa ko ? How can I sure the German Consul will
still allow me to use this damaged passport? Or can I just have 2 passports - the new empty one and the old one with the visa? (not sure how it will work if the old passport can't be scanned because of the damage?) It still bothering me. Now, what should I do first ?

Thank you for your assistance or any advise you can offer.

Halo! I'm from Cebu. I applied Family Reunion visa on February 15, 2016. Pagkatapos ng visa interview ko binigyan din ako ng paper stating the additional documents and they only put "x" on the A1 German language. I am wondering why they only ask the A1 because my birth certificate is late registered. I past the test last April 2 and I submitted my A1 certificate through courier "Air21".

Hello, dont worry hnd nwwala or naligaw ang documents mo. Actually skin july aq nag apply nun, all my documents are complete, nauna nrin ang husband q n nuon ei fiance q plang n mag apply s germany mismo. Xa ang unang nagapply dhil one of the document i need from the requirements ay dpat gling dun. We waited that document for about 8 then pinadala un ng asawa q by post kc required dw ng post ng germany ung document, then after two months ntanggap q n ung documents from there at nag apply n q ng visa. S madaling salita nag nty kmi ng 10 months all in all s document n un, un yta ung part ng investigation nla in both part. So after all in all nagapply n q s embassy pra s visa q with all the documents they need, tinatakan lng nla ang visa q and binalik nla skin un. Was also in panic because d nla kinuha ung visa q, after a weeks tinwagan q ang embassy whats going on. Same thing n cnb nla sau, their waiting s approval gling s stadamt or i dont know where it is. After 2 months they called me to bring my passport after less than a week tinwagan nla aqng ulit to pick up my passport at andun n ang visa q. And im good to go.

About your passport n maeexpired n ei sna nirenew mo mna yan bago mo sinabmit dhil my mga tatak n yan ei. Pag nagrenew ka kc alam q uulitin mong patatakan ulit yan, and i dont know how long the waiting again s pagpapatatak ulit.
